Title: Die holder.
Post by: BiggerHammer on January 20, 2013, 07:00:00 PM
I am uncertain who made the original post for this little beauty. Whoever it was THANK YOU for passing on the information about this tool. I originally made one of aluminum, you can see it on the *edit* right. It has held up quite well.

Recently I have gotten up the courage to put a chunk of steel in my 8 x 12(14) Harbor Freight lathe. The second thing I made was a STEEL die holder. It is much nicer than the aluminum one. It chucks right into the tailstock and seems to be a little more stable than the aluminum one.

That's nice for short threads.

More compact, than the RDG version I use.......

This is my double ended version I made some years ago; tried posting a couple of longer explanations + pics yesterday but seemingly the post never accepted it nor the pics, should be self explanatory, so again at the 3rd attempt..
