Title: My Mad Milling machine
Post by: geoff_p on January 03, 2015, 10:13:48 AM
I'm presently trying to build a milling machine, largely by fabrication from standard black sections and bar.  I am CNCing it as I go, so I can use-the-machine to make parts for-the-machine.

The column is two 4x2 channels, welded to form a box 4" square by about a metre high.

HELP Mr. Moderator.  Please, how can I get my images in here from PhotoBucket?

Geoff,

See the tutorial at http://madmodder.net/index.php/topic,607.0.html

Basically you copy the link from Photobucket, click on the Insert Image button (2nd row down 4th from left which looks like a miniature Mona Lisa) and paste the link in between the two inner square brackets. Use Preview to check that it works before Posting. Oh - don't forget to resize the image to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 otherwise people won't be able to see it properly without panning up and down. (And it takes a lot less storage space.)

Good luck.

Phil.

In case it helps any, I use Linux and no-script, --  photobucket lately has been changing things to make it hard for me to get the image link through their normal methods. Which I used to be able to do.

What I found as a workaround for me Is to just to right click on my image in Photobucket and select properties from my dropdown. This shows the Photobucket address for the photo -- I select that, copy it, and then paste it into my MadModders forum message.

Then to get it to display as a photo on our forum, instead of as just a blue link in my message, I select the address again and then click on the little "insert image" icon in the message composer window (4th button from the left, second row of buttons).

Also -- you do need to be in the full reply window, not the quick reply box, to see these button options on the madModder forum.

One other manual way to do this (in either quick reply, or full reply window) is, paste your photo link into the message , and then put the letters IMG enclosed in square brackets before the link, and /IMG in square brackets after the link. This tells the forum software that the stuff between those marks is an image, and to display it that way, not just display it as a link.
