Dave.

That reminds me of a Christmas about 20 years ago (names changed to protect the too-innocent!). Office shut at mid-day on Xmas eve and a number of staff adjourned to nearby hostelry. As one or two colleagues were clutching last-minute presents, conversation drifted to what folk had bought their partners, spouses etc.  When one chap who had only been married for a few months was asked, he said "Dianne said she doesn't want anything for Christmas" .... we tried to explain that shouldn't really be taken at face value. As the afternoon wore on, we tried hard to Jim persuade to go & get something - anything - before the shops shut, but no, he was going to do what his wife had said. When we left the pub in the evening, one or two chaps even tried to say they had multiple presents for their wives and Jim could have this or that - but no.

After Christmas, usual chat "how was your Christmas".  Jim's answer was "OK" but he did look less-than-euphoric.  When we asked "did you get a present for Dianne in the end" he said yes, he'd sort-of taken our advice and given her a small present - he'd put a ten pound note in her Christmas card but she didn't seem to really appreciate it!  :poke:

Seasons greetings to all / Dave M

To all my internet friends around the World.

Some will have wet weather, some will have dry.
Some will have hot weather while some will have cold.

Whatever we get let's hope that it is in moderation so that we can concentrate on enjoying the Holiday Season however you celebrate it in your part of the world.

:D  :)  :D  :)  :D

I hope you get a present as good as mine

My wife is going to be ok

Thats got to be top present for the year John.

We will have the family here tonight Christmas Eve about 16 in all with the 4 grand kids ranging from 4 to 7yrs.
Makes up for all the years I had to work Christmas Day usually away touring with a coach load of oldies.

Weather ATM is cool overcast making it a comfortable evening. Similar predicted for tomorrow better than 40C trying to cook roasts etc.

Have to relate a story. When we first had Christmas in Sydney prior I asked my dad how he was going to get in to deliver presents........NO chimney's just a small 4" round pipe stuck out the roof. I was worried he'd get stuck at the time I had no idea this tube is the breather of the sewerage pipes.
Santa would have ended up right in the  :bugeye:

David and Bob

I have just put a couple of large dishes of high protein "reindeer food" (rolled oats) outside. I figure that  after the flight accross the Atlantic they will need it. Tell Rudolph to keep his nose turned on high as we have a lot of fog here today.

Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas to all.

We did not bought an presents this year, we made a pact than when we have time and shops are open we buy something nice together. My daugher went to see grandparents. My wife is at work, but she has short shifts and we get to spend a lot of time together and daughter comes back when she has a day off. I'm having four days off. Everyone is healthy. Best Chrismass ever.
