Title: Diaform "AT" Surface Grinder wheel dresser/profiler
Post by: mm289 on December 23, 2017, 05:47:25 AM
Hi,

recently bought some slip gauges from an auction and picked up a couple of other bits to save from the scrap bin. One of them was a Diaform AT wheel dresser/profiler for a surface grinder stone I think.

Its like a pantograph style device that uses a guide on a pre-formed template to move a diamond bit over the stone and cut it to any shape you want. Idea I think is you can then grind specific profiles with the stone.

It is still in its original box with all the packing/shipping brackets etc. pics below.

(well there will be when I can figure out how to upload a photo  )

Just wondered if anyone had seen these before or even had a use for one?

Cheers,

Paul

Paul, I had one for years - both for my J&S540 and 1300 but never used them - I had had plans to drive the diamond under CNC control but it never happened - eventually I gave them away as they are very bulky
