I found this last night on the Tube of You -



Thought it looked useful...yet another tool to make ;)

here we call that thing a "nudger" and yes they are quite usefull things to have on a lathe " I have even made a couple or five for the company I work for.
I trhink if you do a search, Bogs did a write up on one of the ones he made a while back.

Nice use for cheap skates! I mean cheap skate bearings.

I can assure you it IS worth the time spend to make it !

I made one in an hour and it has saved me lots of hours indicating with a meter - make one RIGHT NOW ! :lol: :lol:

Mine is a "bearing on a stick", like Doubleboost's, 1/2 way down the page.

Not recommending my method to anyone....... But I use it handheld, as a lever between toolpost and spinning component.

Works for me!  :thumbup:
