Title: Milling Machine Tooling Holder
Post by: lockstocknbarrel on October 27, 2012, 06:22:13 PM
We had a 3 day public holiday weekend last.
I decided, to make a stand to hold my Milling Tooling, had a friend help with the Stainless.
The white board is just a "Kitchen Carving Plastic Board" just $12 from local Asian shop.
Then i just marked out holes for tooling and added the sides, I also designed the stand so that it can screw to the wall and also sit on the bench if required.
And left room should I be allowed to buy more tooling........

Kindest Regards
Beagles

Looking good Beagles  The idea of using kitchen cutting plastic is neat , cheaper than buying the same thing from a plastics place I bet  Lots of storage for a small space too .
 Cheers Mick.

Like you, Beagles, I find cheap chopping boards useful for making things like stands. This tool rack (the pic is from an old thread) is made out of a (used) HDPE chopping board. Being about 1/4" or  6mm thick, I could use self-tapping screws into pilot holes to hold it together.

It has a solid back, to keep it squared up when need I carry it between the lathe and the mill, the former being upstairs and the latter in a detached garage.
