Well here she is. Not much to look at. Some parts from other, well the term projects does not quite fit. 3/8ths bore about a 2 cm stroke. I do not have a compressor handy to run it. However I tried to keep the tolerances fairly tight. If you hook up a hose and blow REALLY HARD you can get it to run a bit..... then you pass out. Time to find a small compressor and send it with the nephews to school.

(Yes I know.... another wobbler. I gotta start somewhere. At least I built it without plans.... and it shows. :lol: )

What's wrong with wobblers?
Running on breath power is a good sign that you've made it right. Looks like a good start.

As that one runs, without a compressor, there's even less wrong with it...... :D

Thanks guys, I must admit it was fun making it. Figuring out how to correct my errors without tossing the part. A good learning experience. Now I must depart for a few days. See you all soon.

well done, must be a good feeling to see your first engine running,
as for a compressor, if she runs on mouth air... try the other end, might have to eat a tin of beans and mushy peas first, and point the exhaust out the door... ::)

Your engine looks great.
I made mine with no plans and eyeballed everything, made everything on a drill press but the flywheel. None of mine run on lung power.
Then I made a little better looking one than the first with no plans.

Nicely done. I hope the one I'm about to start on goes as well as this.

The main thing that helped on this was getting a set of reamers :dremel: and chucking up a wooden dowel rod to lap the cylinder wall. I then put a bit of brasso on the piston and cycled it back and forth by hand rotating it to insure smooth operation.
Those are some nice wobblers there snoopdog. I think I need a bigger drillpress not quite enough clearance for big stuff. The kitchen is getting a bit full though. So many tools to buy, so little spare cash and room (hmmm I don't use the living room much...)
Oh, by the way the nephews were THRILLED with the engine. Now to :proj: something new. Figure out how much I can do with what I have. That being an 8 x 14 lathe and a smallish drillpress and limited machining skills. This shall be FUN!

The neighborhood kids all love my engines, and even ask me to get them out and run them once in a while. Children are fascinated by the moving parts - which makes us all big kids, right?
