I am after some FINE ALUMINIUM OXIDE GRIT , It's for a small project I have restoring a 1" scale atkinson steam wagon , the chasie reqires the horible paint removing and there are some nice brass castings that have been messed up with paint, i also want to do some brass parts i made some time ago to remove any oxidisation befor paint as is should give a good key, any sugestions on the type to use . Thanks

I would go for the finer stuff if you are trying to clean brass and just remove paint. The 80/120 blend would be ideal. Any coarser and you will start to remove large amounts of metal.
I use a very fine glass bead to get a nice matt surface finish on brass.

BTW, if you are not using a cabinet, plug up your a**e, the stuff gets everywhere.
