Title: Made a M0.9 Left Handed Thread Screw with Homemade Die
Post by: DeanDK on January 23, 2018, 07:00:32 PM
I needed to make a left-handed threaded screw for my watch that I'm making. I could only find an appropriate tap. So I went through a experimental process of making a lot of mistakes to produce a die that works.

Here is the screw making process;

I hope you enjoy, if you have any questions or advice I'm all ears  :)

I enjoyed that!

Me too, I thought you may have used silver steel to make the die...or is the carbon steel you selected an equivalent?

Good effort anyway.... :bow:

Cheers John, yes I probably should have mentioned it was silver steel. I have said that in previous videos, but I believe different countries may call this by other names so I just refer to it as carbon steel now.
