hello. My names Michael.

My current project is a rottiserie for my charcoal grill. I have made the uprights I am just waiting on the stainless steel for the skewer part. I am going to make some kinda fancy bearing system for it (because I can)

I might make a round bushing for the square skewer and run it between a couple of bearings. I might even turn the square down to a round at the end and run it in a cut in half needle roller bearing. I am not sure.

I am also waiting for my QCTP to arrive from the US and A..  The Aus dollar was 1 for 1 a while ago so I bought up on some American tooling.

I am currently trolling ebay for some good s/h end mills...

that is all

My problem is that most of what I do is covered by Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's).  In the past month I have:

Designed a new fecal matter collection, dilution, and dispense system.  I can't go into details, but you can imagine the bad jokes being made as I worked on it.

Designed and prototyped an automated assembly system to make the aforementioned fecal matter unit (750,000 units/shift/year).

Designed and prototyped a new electro-hydraulic system for testing artificial heart valves (500,000,000 cycle test).

Designed, built, and tested a system to measure the deflection of electric guitar bodies in bending and impact.

Designed, prototyped, and tested a new linkage system for providing variable frequency & stroke to an hydraulic cylinder.

I am currently working on a set of machine stations that take bulk parts for an assembly, orient them for assembly, and load them into carriers such that a pick-and-place system can insert them to create the overall assembly.  If all goes well, I will get the contract to do the actual assembly of the parts sometime about the first of next year.

I tend to "lurk" as I really can't go into details about most of the things I do.  My customers would get more than a bit irate were they to find specific information of my work for them floating around cyberspace.

Hello All,

My name is Nick. I found this board about a year ago and promptly got a new job and moved town. I have only just started setting up my shed once more. I have a mini lathe and mini mill and a 4X6 bandsaw as well as a few woodworking tools. Time is a bit short between work and family commitments but the dream of learning to use all my equipment to make little engines and other bits of equipment to make more little engiens is still there. In the mean time I enjoy watching this forum and learning from the many informative posts.

Cheers,

Nickle
