Last week a friend had me help clean out her shop because shes moving. There were a few pieces of willow that were big enough to make some smallish bowls out of and she said I could have them. I noticed that the bark was stuck good to the wood so I thought I would try to turn a natural edge bowl. This is what I ended up with. It's about 6 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall. It will get an oil finish when I'm done sanding it. This stuff seems to like to tear out a bit. My tools were razor sharp and I still had trouble with it.

I'll try and get more in progress pictures next time.

Very nice Wes. I've wanted to turn a natural edge bowl for ages but never got round to it. I've only turned Willow once, it was still green and I got soaked with sap!

A great result on a difficult turn.
