Hi Looking for some help I have made a steam whistle for my launch which sounds good on both air and steam.
Two problems:
The whistle is way too big and just looks wrong I have found pictures of resenator whistles but no information on the construction of these.
Second issue is getting the whistle valve to shut correctly.
Thanks for looking at this thread hope somebodycan help.

just use a Schrader valve ( bit from a car tyre ) for the whistle valve , arrange the lever to work on the stem
BTW its a 32tpi thread
2 BTW they make very good NR valves for your oil lines from the lubricator pump

So simple I had never thought about the tyre valve (I have used them in an attenuator) :hammer:

Larry Bangham wrote a 2 part article on Resonator Whistles in Steam in the Garden issue 66 and 67 (2002). This was for G1 locomotive use.
