Title: Re-Purposed "Cycle" Clock
Post by: Brass_Dragonfly on March 08, 2010, 11:18:40 PM
This was an old clock that I had for years. Before, it was a pendulum clock with just the frame. Until my son got a hold of the pendulum and it swung no more.   Then, the mechanical block stopped working and I was ready to trash it.

But then I decided to to turn it into a steam-punkish, re-purposed clock using old motorcycle gears and parts. From the Motorcycle Part Hospice that occupies 1/2 of our garage.   :coffee:

Hence, the Recycled "Cycle" Clock. After stripping, cleaning and painting both the original frame and add-on parts, I poly-coated it, added a new clock mechanism and it's been keeping great time, ever since.

Looks great Brass_Dragonfly. With a little bit of imagination things always look better the second time around. Thanks for sharing it with us.  :ddb: :ddb:

Good job!

It's her 1st real attempt at a project in metal. I hope this trend with her keeps up... I want to build her a forge/etc... so she can do some blacksmithing. I want to get her into a class for it.
