Title: It was a bit windy
Post by: Scuba1 on October 21, 2016, 10:48:41 PM
After lifting 5 boats of the bottom in various places post Mathew. Getting a bunch of torn sails of boats in our marina. Towing broken docks to the lift well to be hauled out and getting my generators set up on various boats to get their batteries charged up so the bilge pumps could do their job and pumping the ones out where the electrical systems got flooded. I went scouting and found a dock in the marsh that was washed up there and a double jet ski float. I organized a 1000 foot tow line and a bigger boat and towed them into deep water, where I could pick them up with my center console. Still have to replace a few boards on that dock, but it looks in pretty good shape. Tied it all together, lifted my anchors after searching for them with a grapple and set everything up on the dock including 3 new anchors chain and rode. So yesterday I towed the whole lot back out to our old anchor spot where Tiki was waiting. Now everything is back together and in place. We gained a bit of space with the new dock as the old one was 10 X 24 and this one is 10 X 60 feet. plus the double jet ski ramp on the end of that. 7 large anchors hold it all in place. I am in the wrong line of work to live in a marina as folks come knocking on my door at all hours of the day wanting stuff fixed or borrow tools etc. So out here when I finish work and take the boat home I am mostly left alone other then the odd phone call at silly hours. Next on the to do list is a place where I can get water by boat, so I can bring it over to ours and to the people that live on their boats in the marina as the water lines to that place got torn up pretty badly and it will take weeks to get that fixed. I have a 70 gal tank with an electric pump rigged on the little boat to do that with. Just have to find a place that has water to fill it up.
I'll post some pictures when I get round to taking them in a day or so.
