Title: Hello from North East England
Post by: Leebo on June 01, 2015, 05:26:08 PM
Hello all, I've just stumbled across this excellent forum,
I've recently bought a Myford ml7, mainly been using it for making small components for a custom motorcycle I'm building.
It looks like there's a huge amount of helpful info on here

Hi Leebo, looking at your project reminded me very much of the late 70's/early 80's and the Yamaha based hardtails that John Reed(AKA Uncle Bunt) was building at that time......OZ.

John, aye just a wee bit south of Newcastle,

Manx, yeah the design is stuff copied from the net, mostly from a guy called Dan Patterson, there's nothing really new about it as you say most stuff was all done in the 60,s - 70,s

Thanks Jon I'll have a look at that site, you doing much with the bikes you have?

Regards
Lee

It's a little embarrassing, I have about 20 chops, 7 trikes, the running gear from 3 Indians, WLA Harley, 2 1923 J.A.P.’s plus a unit full of engines, frames etc. :bugeye: I'm a bit of a hoarder  :loco:

Hi
Spent many happy hours in Hartlepool at the "Queens Rink Ballroom" With Friends from the surrounding villages using it as a meeting point.
A little aside It was at the Queens Rink that "Gerry Dorsey" was Booed off the stage.
He changed his name to "Engelbert Humperdink" and succeeded in America.
Will not mention the "French Spy" incident as fellow conspirators we can keep a secret.
The cartoon "Andy Capp" was created by "Reg Smyth" and featured many familiar backgrounds.
Moved to Hawkes Bay New Zealand in 1963.

Thanks for the nice welcome gentlemen,
Velocette, some interesting facts about the town I had no idea about, however I was wondering how long it was before the French spy incident would be mentioned  :)
