Title: A little ''MOD.''
Post by: kellswaterri on December 07, 2009, 11:24:56 AM
Hi all, for quite a while over the past year, my shed has been like the proverbial ''Ark'' and I had been figuring out how to fix things so I was not dragging water in to the shed all the time...the concrete path past the two shops had a pronounced dip allowing a miniature lake to gather in bad weather so I laid about 20 feet of decking and built an enclosed veranda to connect the two...

Hopefully now I can keep my feet and sheds dry...just have to fit doors and guttering and job done.

Nice work John

You could get a nice long bed lathe in that extension

Is that your long term plan  ::)

Have fun

Nice job there. Should keep the wet stuff out of the shop. Now any puddles will be under the floor so you won't have to walk through them.  :ddb: :ddb:

Cheers

Hi Don, that has been the idea for a LONG time
Stew, much as I would like to get more in I will first see what I might be able to move out :proj:

Now I understand what you were on about when we were chatting, nice job, and well fit for purpose.

Yes John, I would have much rather been doing it during Summer...OOPS...What Summer :offtopic:
Now looking for someone ''Sailmaker'' in County Antrim to make me a pair of doors modelled on your typical shower curtain.

I keep hearing about this summer we didn't have this year in the UK ....

We had a brilliant summer in N/Wales .... OK maybe not the hottest, but decent enough and hardly any rain ... I know this cos I spent the summer building my garage and had to keep watering the garden as well to stop everything dying ....

Nice umbrella btw ....

We had a brilliant summer last year, I distinctly remember it as it was on a Tuesday!

Funny, just up the road here in Merseyside, it's not stopped raining since 2007... It rained pretty much every single day between April and July; there was that brief heatwave (when, ironically, I was away on 3 weeks holiday!), and IIRC September was basically dry and actually quite nice. Then, in October, it started raining again.

Forecast is currently for it to stop on Thursday.

I so hate the British weather.

Good mod to your shop there, it should keep it warmer as well as keeping the water out.
For those that are complaining of summer, you can have the 40C days we have been having here in Australia, not good in an uninsulated shed.
