Title: Hello from a swede
Post by: Bjorn on October 26, 2015, 04:49:24 AM
Been a lurker here for a few years, but I guess it's time to make a post, or two..

Set up a workshop a few tears ago, and has so far mostly been involved in toolmaking with the objectives to learn and make a usefull addition to the tooling collection at the same time.

I have in later years learnt that my grandfather (passed away when I was quite young) was some sort of toolmaker at vattenfalls workshop in Västerås, I still have a (very) small set of Johansson blocks from him and a few other bits and pieces.

Most machining is done on a early myford big bore (a rare machine in sweden) and an old mattson & zetterlund vertical mill.

Have so far made many, many  tools of George Thomas designs (them books have a lot of dog ears and coffe stains now).

Allso made a quorn, not completely finished yet, spiraling head to do... (Never got round to it)

And a miniature gas turbine (Gerald Rutten design, it's a really sweet running beast)

Wellcome!

Many sweeds, I'm outnumbered.

You have a lot of nice stuff there. Show some stuff you make. When you make.

Welcome - good to see you posting, and you seem to be pretty well equipped.

I do hope that this was a typo:

"Set up a workshop a few TEARS ago, and has so far mostly been involved in toolmaking with the objectives to learn and make a usefull addition to the tooling collection at the same time."

Haha, a typo!.. Writing this from bed on a ipad, the "keyboard" on this is evil..
I have severe backpain since yesterday and am allmost immobilised, hope to be better in a few days

Sorry to hear about the back - been there and worn the Tee shirt.

I'm sure we've all shed a few tears over the years establishing workshops

Jeah, and every part that is taken out of workshop has a little of me. Usually blood.
