I have after the buy went and bought a different handle and cable package from kina so i got rid of that bloody stupid button on the handle. And then i bought a gaslens kit from china as well so i use way less gas when welding. =)
Awsome machine anyway.. been welding everything from 20mm plate to thin thin tubes for exhaust systems. =)

Very nice, I'm saving the penny's for the 250amp one.
-
Crikey, John! I just got a mig welder I haven't learned to use... Now you get a TIG unit! I can't keep up!
Great video as usual. Keep 'em comming.

good post john :ddb:

Nice welder john thanks for the explanation of the dials, I just have a 100 amp inverter and it does the job but would be nice to do aluminum and thicker metals.

Hi
Lads
Been playing with the TIG set
-
Thanks for the vids John. Just spent the last hour hour watching them all. Really interesting. I want to get into welding but budget is an issue and there are so many different types I`m just weighing up all my options. Thanks again.

Nice John. There are some people on the Mig welding forum who wanted to see the weld results - would you mind me posting those pictures over there ?

Now there's spooky....
I was only playing with a TIG set identical to this on Monday evening
First time I've welded anything in almost 10 years.... Little bit shaky!
It's a friends set, brand new. Just testing it out.
I will watch the videos with great interest at an earlier time.... Looking forward to them John :)
Ralph.

Another good video John.
I was particularly interested to be able to actually SEE the cleaning action of the AC - the oxide was shrinking away - never seen that on film before.

Thanks John I always enjoy the video's it's good to see these. I'd love to be able to weld aluminum it's definetly on the list (right after dro ) although christmas is coming!

Thanks Andrew
It is not easy to video a weld pool
The people that can do it wont tell you how its done
(but now I know the secret) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yep, definitely want to be using gloves
Just out of curiosity, what colour electrodes are you using? I've found the gold-top or blue-top to be best for Al, and red (the radioactive ones) ideal for steel.
I also frequently dip the tungsten in the weld pool, or on the rod, and my reaction is pretty similar to yours. I've got quite good at "rejuvenating" the tungsten with a small hammer, without removing it from the torch...

Hi
I am using Red for DC and White for AC
I want to try some grey ones (lathinated) seemingly they will work on both

Good videos John, me like alot :headbang:

(but now I know the secret) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
(Is it to focus before taping the smoked glass on?)
Nice video though, they're helping take the mystery out of TIG. Especially with the great through-the-visor shots.

The secret is still safe

A while back I was thinking of making a steel box with a slot in the front the glass dropped into. The idea being so I could get my camera close to the weld without melting it since I have trouble focussing on relatively close objects when zoomed in. It seemed a bit much to show off my crap buzzbox welds though, and at the moment I seem to be slowly mutating into a woodworker anyways.
